Gorgeous promotion! Meyer Sound Panther Helps to Upgrade Michael Bublé 2022 "High Tour" Tour

Author:

Bublé's ongoing "Higher Tour" tour in Michael can be said to be a grand and warm party. From all aspects, this is a tour that has been built with all efforts. The scene is equipped with a large four-story stage that can accommodate an entire orchestra and backup singers, and occasionally includes a string band and a 10-person choir. In addition, it is matched with rich lighting effects and four huge display screens. In terms of audio support, Bublé once again adopted a "dual-stage hybrid" Meyer Sound reinforcement system, including a main stage array and a large hanging central array. When Bublé performs on the main stage, the central array acts as a matching complementary sound system, and when he enters the B stage, it can be used as a surround sound system. In addition, this tour uses 76 new PANTHER large linear line array systems to replace most of the previous LEO family systems and all M-series systems, thereby reducing the space occupied by the sound system.

Craig Finley, senior production manager of the tour, said: "We are very excited about the new PANTHER system, not only because it has the best sound quality that Meyer Sound makes us expect, but also because their boxes are lighter and smaller. We no longer need to load two tons of electric hoists. PANTHER system has a very high hanging efficiency. The two systems we actually carry can be installed by only one truck, and the overall system power consumption is lower."

Craig Doubet, a senior FOH mixer at Bublé, pointed out that these advantages have shortened the loading and unloading time. He said: "PANTHER lift up and down very quickly. We have a total of 13 hanging arrays. Now we can unload and lower them all and load them away in less than 75 minutes."

Doubet said that while the lightweight system benefits logistics transportation, there is no impairment in performance. He said: "On the contrary, for tuning, PANTHER is a different speaker. Although it took me some time to get used to it, the final result shows that it is just to my liking, the sound details are fully revealed, and the dynamic margin is sufficient. Michael hope that the performance will be more lively and the party atmosphere will be stronger. PANTHER speaker definitely achieved this goal. The singing effect was so great that we were all very satisfied. The scene sounded like Michael singing everywhere."

The main stage system consists of two groups of pre-main expansion arrays, each group of the lower part is divided into 4 LEOPARD, the upper part is divided into 14 PANTHER. The left and right side complement sound arrays each have 14 LYON speakers, while the front complement sound arrays have 8 ULTRA-X40 speakers. In addition, two groups of hanging arrays are configured to enhance bass. Each group has 6 1100-LFC low-frequency control units, and 4 900-LFC units placed on the ground are used to supplement bass effect.

The 48 PANTHER on stage B are distributed in 5 groups of hanging arrays, of which 16 in 1 group are matched with 2 LEOPARD speakers in the lower part, and 8 in the other 4 groups, with 6 LEOPARD in the lower part of each group of arrays. 14 900-LFC low-frequency control units are hung or stacked on the stage to provide strong bass, and 8 ULTRA-X40 speakers are used as side supplements. In addition, 16 MJF-210 stage monitor speakers are equipped for stage return, while the FOH mixer is equipped with a pair of Amie studio monitor speakers with accurate listening and one Amie-Sub ultra-low frequency speaker.

Just like the previous "An Evening with Michael Bublé" tour, Bublé walked leisurely to stage B while singing. with the help of Meyer Sound Spacemap Go space sound design and mixing tools, its sound can be tracked in real time in the live space. Doubet said: "This time both the main stage and the B stage are equipped with the same PANTHER system, which ensures the consistency of the sound tone when the Michael Bublé moves slowly between the two stages. At the same time, it also makes it easier to match the array when debugging the system." The audio team of this tour mainly includes system engineer Fred Cantin and monitoring engineers Martin Paré and Renato Petruzziello.

The Michael Bublé "Higher Tour" tour opened on August 8 with 38 shows planned across North America. This will be followed by 34 more shows in Oceania, South America, Europe and the UK, with the tour ending on May 17, 2023.
